Coatings play a significant role in solar photovoltaics and in solar thermal applications. Conductive layers deposited on glass are used as front (thin film silicon and CdTe) or back (CIGS) electrodes.
Anti-reflective coatings for their part are used in order to further increase light transmission into the solar modules.
