Dii is a unique private industry joint venture that was launched as the 'Desertec Industrial Initiative' in July 2009. We aim at creating the conditions for an accelerated implementation of the Desertec concept in EUMENA. Our joint venture was founded under German law as a GmbH (limited liability company) in Munich on 30 October 2009.

HELATHIS is a Collaborative Project granted under the 7th Framework Program of the European Commission. The project consortium is formed by AGC Solar, T-Solar Global S.A., a manufacturer of a-Si thin film modules in Spain, and research groups from the Research Centre Juelich (Germany), the Utrecht University (The Netherlands) and the University of Barcelona (Spain). The project identifies optical light confinement as a key point to increase a-Si thin film module efficiency.
